Chromegotchi is a Chrome extension that lives in your browser and grows based on your care. It stores some local data to personalize your experience, but we do not collect or transmit personal information to any server.

Permissions

• activeTab: Needed to place Chromegotchi in the current browser tab.
• alarms: Used to schedule sleep and wake cycles.
• notifications: Used to alert the user when Chromegotchi needs attention.
• scripting: To inject and control Gotchi behavior on web pages.
• storage: Saves local progress and settings.
• tabs: Lets Chromegotchi return to your browser tab after a walk.
• unlimitedStorage: Ensures we don't lose user data when saving large logs locally.

Data Handling

All data is stored locally on your machine using Chrome's storage API. We do not send, share, or sell any of your data. No tracking or analytics are used.

Third-party Services

No external services are used. The extension works entirely offline.

Remote Code

Chromegotchi does not load or execute any code from external URLs.
